Have you ever wondered about regenerative medicine? Are you seeing the signs of aging as you look in the mirror? We have found that platelet rich plasma (PRP) and medical ozone therapy can be a great addition to your healthcare routine.

PRP therapy is a safe and easy treatment option. PRP can be used to improve joint health or collagen production in your skin. We have found athletes are able to get back on the field sooner and fine lines start to disappear with treatments. PRP therapy has shown great results in dental care. Dental research is demonstrating this is a safe and effective therapy to speed healing time.

How do you acquire PRP from a patient? With a special centrifuge, we spin your blood. After that we remove a layer of plasma (the clear yellow part) that is full of platelets. Platelets, or thrombocytes, are part of your blood that help to stop bleeding. They are rich if growth factors, that when activated, help to speed healing. These growth factors also assist with skin health. There are various growth factors such as epidermal growth factor (ECF), platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) to name a few. By concentrating your platelets, they can be used locally to increase your rate of healing and their effectiveness.

How do you get the most out of platelet therapy? We also find diet changes help to improve the health of your platelets before your procedure. Also, ensuring the doctor’s office has appropriate equipment for optimal PRP recover. We find using ozone therapy can help to improve the quality of your blood as well.

Medical ozone has been researched for healthcare purposes since the mid 1800’s. Not only do we use ozone for cosmetic purposes, we have found it indispensable for general healthcare. In our office, colds and flus often resolve quicker. We find general fatigue tends to improve, blood pressure can lower, and medications can often be reduced. You can find links to research articles on our website as well.

Many Americans have heard about medical use of ozone therapy. However, usually they have heard about ozone for air purification purposes. We can also use ozone via other applications. There is a treatment called Major Autohemotherapy where a patient’s blood is treated with ozone. There are a variety of other ways to use ozone therapy as well. The majority of research has been published outside of the United States. If you find a research article you like on our website, you can search for that author’s name to find more.

As I have traveled though out the United States I am surprised there is not more of an awareness about these therapies. At medical conferences, I meet physicians from all over the world. These physicians are almost always well versed in various regenerative medicine options including ozone and PRP therapies.

Testimonial from 65 year old male:

“With the use of PRP and ozone injections for my knee pain, I can now walk my dog for 45 minutes. I was not able to stand for more than 5 minutes before these injections. I have been able to lose over 100 pounds now that I have learned more about food choices and can be more active. My life has changed significantly from these treatments.”

Ask your doctor if they know about PRP or ozone for general medicine or cosmetic uses. If your doctor would like to learn more, our next seminar is October 13-15, 2018 in Portland, Oregon. See Cosmetic PRP with Ozone for Skin and Hair for more information.
