The brain is not what initiates the raw material of thought; it is a central processing unit. The brain is taking information, organizing it into patterns, and putting it back out. Much of the information that comes to the brain begins in the gut environment.

So what happens when we start to lose our microbial workforce? The first symptom tends to be a decrease in sensory processing.
