Justine Iannello Haynes, nutritional consultant and producer of Happy Health videos, describes the benefits she finds from using DMSO for non-toxic pain relief.

Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) is produced industrially from dimethyl sulfide, a by-product of the process for conversion of wood into wood pulp, by oxidation with oxygen or nitrogen dioxide.

Use of DMSO in medicine, predominantly used as a topical analgesic, dates from around 1963, when an Oregon Health & Science University Medical School team, headed by Stanley Jacob, discovered it could penetrate the skin and other membranes without damaging them.

In the video, Ms. Haynes describes applying DMSO topically to the bottom of her feet to relieve pain, muscle aches, arthritis, migraine, and as a general detox. She also recommends the book DMSO: Nature's Healer by Morton Walker.
