Jesse Stoff, MD, HMD, FAAFP, DABAM

Introduction to a New Science-Based Online Medical Library for Clinical Reference Center

Dr. Stoff, founder of Integrative Medicine of NY, is a physician with credentials in clinical immunology, and holistic medicine.

The International Organization of Integrative Cancer Physicians (IOICP) offers access to an online medical library and forum to physicians who become members. The IOICP was formed by the Best Answer for Cancer Foundation and is the first professional organization of IPT and Integrative Cancer Physicians. The database is good for information but doesn’t give you protocols, balancing, etc. It provides a database for agents so that you can come up with strategies. In the future the Best Answer for Cancer Foundation conferences will be themed on specific anticancer strategies.

Robert Rowen, MD

A Novel Approach for Cancer Treatment Using Ozone Sauna, Colloidal Minerals, and PEMF

Dr. Rowen is known as "The Father of Medical Freedom" for pioneering the first statutory protection for alternative medicine in the U.S. in 1990.

Many things can be treated with ozone including cancer, prostate issues and Ebola. The oxygen from the ozone contributes to tumor remission. PEMF (Pulsed Electro Magnetic Field therapy), ozone, and non-toxic minerals like silver or gold can be synergistic in the treatment of cancer. You can see a video of this at RobertRowenMD - YouTube and learn more at Dr. Rowen's website.

Allan Frankel, MD

Cannabis Therapies for Cancer

Dr. Frankel is an internal medical doctor with expertise on dosed cannabis medicine. He is the CEO of GreenBridge Medical Services, Inc.

Cannabis is less addictive and has fewer side effects than many pharmaceutical drugs. Cannabis begins as THCA and CBDA and are the acid molecules. When they are heated they become THC and CBD. There is a possibility that the acid molecules are equally effective.

We make hundreds of cannabinoid molecules through the endocannabinoid system which takes care of the interaction of real world information and how our bodies process this information. The major cannabinoids are THC, CBD, THCA, CBDA, CBG, CBC, THCV, and CBDV.

It is hard to find a cannabis plant that makes large quantities of CBG but plants are being bred to achieve this. THCV is now becoming more available phyto-actively. It is important to develop plants that can replace the endocannabinoid deficiencies.

Hemp-based CBD is not as effective as marijuana-based CBD through whole plant medicine. Plants that have THCV are effective for neuropathic pain. 45 out of 50 patients had complete relief of pain. CBD is important in preventive care for issues involving the liver, brain, and heart. Irritable bowel is helped with CBD. CBD has antibacterial properties (MRSA) and can be effective in place of antibiotics. It can be used topically and internally.

Cannabinoid receptors are throughout the body with CB1 receptors being mostly in the brain. There are more receptor sites for cannabinoids in the brain than any other receptor system. There are no receptors in the brain stem. CB2 receptors are mostly found in the immune system and the gut. Cannabis balances the immune system. If the immune system is down it upregulates. If it is over active as in autoimmune diseases, then the cannabinoids down regulate. Receptors are at the synaptic site of neurons along with neurotransmitters. However, the cannabinoids are located at the post-synaptic site so they can control the neurotransmitters.

The whole marijuana plant has major cannabinoids (over 120), minor cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, and waxes. The waxes are important and medicinal. The waxes make the product a bit hazy. It is used topically combined with alcohol and terpenes and it penetrates into the basil cells. Basil, Squamous, keratosis have been effectively treated in this way.

Growers are developing plants with various ratios of CBD to THC. The plants will vary with these ratios. Endocannabinoids maintain body balance and homeostasis. Anandamide is our internal THC. 2-AG is the internal CBD. The higher the anandamide the more protection against cancer.

Clinical endocannabinoid deficiency syndrome (anandamide) include fibromyalgia, anxiety, migraine, and irritable bowel syndrome. If you don’t have endocannabinoid tone then the phyto cannabinoids are beneficial. Systemic effects of cannabis include anti-inflammatory, anti-spasmodic, mitochondrial modulation, and immune system modulation. CBD specifically helps these issues. Type 2 diabetes responds to CBD and THCV. Myasthenia gravis responds to THCA (raw cannabis that is juiced using fingers to crush as heat converts THCA to THC).

There are specific receptor sites on the mitochondria for cannabinoids to improve ADP conversion to ATP. Sublingual application doesn’t go through the liver but rather directly into the blood stream. Oral application goes through the liver and is metabolized. Dermal application is effective. Rectal application is difficult as oils are not absorbed well. Researchers need to develop an excipient that will improve this.

Neuropathy can be improved with THCV dealing with de-myelination. Seizure conditions are responding to THCA, THCV, CBD, CBDA combinations.

There are CBD medicines in various forms including hemp, cannabis plants, and synthetic. Most hemp CBD comes from China. Hemp doesn’t have all the additional molecules that the cannabinoid plants have. Hemp absorbs heavy metals from the soil so it can be toxic. Synthetic CBD also doesn’t have the additional molecules. This has been patented.

Cannabis plant is the most effective form for palliation of pain (neuropathy, general), nausea, mood, and insomnia. THCV is very therapeutic for this. The combination of CBD, THC, THCA, CBDA 30 mg each all help for palliation.

Cannabis can interfere with sleep so be careful in cases of insomnia. Take 1 hour before sleep.

For mood THCV causes clear cut euphoria. Preventively cannabis can be used for chemotherapy neuropathy. Anti-proliferative, anti-cancer cannabinoids have shown to be effective, best if various cannabinoids are combined. This has proven to be much better than high dose THC. Narcotics cravings are relieved by CBD. If used there are virtually no withdrawal issues from the narcotics.

It is important to start low and go slow. For most people the THC is needed in the curing. So you can slowly increase the THC levels along with the CBD. It is important to have products that offer accurate dosage and purity. There are compounding labs that create these products. From the grower, in order to control this you need to test the plant, oils, and soils to avoid contamination. There are labs that do this testing. There are many protocols for disease.

For cancer, there is a high safety profile; nontoxic doses; and helps with pain, nausea, and is neuro protective. CBD, THC, CBDA and THCA (equal amounts of each). 120 mg daily is a standard dose. This combination is likely to include more cannabinoids in the future. There have been dramatic effects with lingual carcinoma using extracts that spray directly on the cancer. As research continues the use of cannabis will increase.

Annie Brandt

“The Gift that Keeps on Giving”: a Case Study of Recurrent Cancer

Annie Brandt is Founder and President Emeritus of Best Answer for Cancer Foundation.

She presented a patient case with metastatic breast cancer. The patient used many protocols including a cleanse, paleo diet, colonics, chi machine for lymph, prayer, acupuncture, exercise, laughter, IPT, antivirals, anti-inflammatories, anti-fungals, anti-bacterials, and chemo therapies that were switched when tumor did not respond.

The IPT therapy was so effective you could watch the tumor shrink. Power of the mind over the body was evident. EFT was used for emotions, as well as annual IPT.

Later the patient started UVC, ozone, ketogenics, HBOT, amygdalin, IV vitamin C, Doxycycline, Celebrex, Zoloft, metformin, and cannabis. Many alternative methods destroy the cancer stem cells. The patient also did the Greek test for supplements. She is now doing emotional recall healing and emotional revox.

What were the keys? Spiritual, emotional, psychological, immune, nourishment, detox, exercise and targeted therapies. It is evident that multiple approaches are necessary but also are life changing as well as healing. Brandt is the author of The Healing Platform: Build Your Own Cure!

John Malanca

The “Is it Real or is it Memorex” of Medical Cannabis

John Malanca is CEO of United Patients Group, the WebMD for cannabis. They developed the documentary series called The Sacred Plant. There are now two seasons available the end of June 2018.

Malanca has found that microdosing could be best. No need for 1 gram a day as this can be too much. In the wasting stage, nutrition is what matters. This therapy is not a one size fits all. If there a will to live, there could be a drug interaction – cannabis can increase the response of the drug. Age, weight, current health all play a role.

Full extract cannabis oils vary and formulations have various ratios of CBD to THC. It's best to use whole plant medicine. If using hemp make sure it was grown in US. Hemp doesn’t have all the whole plant components. Administration includes tinctures, sublingual sprays, inhaled products, topicals, patches, nasal sprays, and suppositories. Indica strain is more relaxing whereas the sativa strain is a stimulant. There are private product companies, compounding, that can formulate products with various ratios of CBD and THC.

If using any product, but for sure if using hemp CBD, ask to see the testing results for the product. The United Patients Group website offers consultations with full intake and will offer written protocols for the patient with follow-up. They offer medical education for doctors and nurses. They do educational events. They also do business consulting. Testing can be done by Steep Hill Labs and Anaresco.

Keto for Cancer: Insider Tips for a Simple Keto Life

Miriam Kalamian is a nutrition consultant, educator, and author specializing in the implementation of ketogenic therapies. She is the author of Keto for Cancer and founder of Dietary Therapies LLC.

Ketogenics offers improved metabolic health, increased energy, etc. It is a metabolic approach: carbohydrate restriction, protein management, and calorie restriction.

An example of Classic Keto would be a little asparagus, salmon and mayonnaise. However, it is hard to go plant-based in a ketogenic diet. Keto Macros are fat 70-80%, protein 10-15%, carb 5-10%. Carb limit is 12-25 grams. Calculate the protein target of 1 g/kg of ideal body weight.

Fat intake reflects need: less if weight loss is desirable, more for one needs to maintain or stabilize weight. If you are overweight then you will get ketones from body fat and can eat less fat. However, if you are thin you will need to eat more fat. Chronometer, Anker KetoCalculator, KetoDietCalculator can all help you track your progress.

Meal plan is 1, 2, and 3. First pick the protein, then the vegetable, and then add the fat. Protein: 1g/kg of lean body mass. Older adults, athletes will need more protein. All proteins stimulate the production of insulin and can drive cancer progression. Carbs total 12-25 grams. You can use the glycemic index as a guide, i.e.: cabbage can have a higher glycemic index than berries. Fat: combine healthy fats and oils and balance omega 6 and omega 3. This would include avocado, coconut, nuts, cheeses, and butter. People need to get over their fear of fat.

Challenges of initially using keto include: dehydration, constipation, etc. Bone broth helps with the transition. Add salt to your fluids. Consider adding a small dose of exogenous ketones. Water fasts can help when getting into keto therapy. Short term fasting during chemo reduces GI effects. You can ease into ketosis by phasing out sugars and adding in fats over a couple of weeks.

Plan ahead with full week’s meals. Keep a food diary. Measure glucose and ketones. Test with the KetoMojo. Keep a narrow eating window of 6-10 hours. This seems to be the most important part of the program. Men do better with a shorter window compared to women. Do not eat after dinner. Limit snacks during the day. In keto we are mimicking starvation to give the body a chance to clean out the dead cells.

In the Bulletproof model, add 2-3 tbsp. of fat or oils in a hot drink. Have this first and then a couple of hours have your first meal. Keep the meat, including red meat to three meals a week for the carnitine and to make sure you have all the amino acids you need.

For the first few weeks you will need certain kitchen tools, meal planning, food lists, cookbooks, and measures to monitor glucose and ketones. The variety in the foods is mostly in the way the foods are prepared. Measure your success with glucose blood meters, urine strips for ketone measurement and breathe analyzers. Keep records.

One third of the brain tissue does not take up ketones. Exercise must include resistance training. Do whatever you are capable of. Get the body moving. Good healthy muscle improves metabolism. Exercise improves balance, strength, and flexibility as well as relieving stress.

In starting a keto diet, commit, keep it simple, get into ketosis, track your progress and allow time to adapt.

The diet slows the advancement of cancer and is not a cure. One problem with cancer patients is the production of glutamine from the tissue death. Chloroquine and green tea extract can help with this. Keto is good with primary cancer. There are some cancers that actually use ketones but in general it can be helpful. More research is necessary.

Robert Scott Bell, D.A. Hom.

Hydrogen-Based Protocols to Modulate Immune Response

Robert Scott Bell is a homeopathic practitioner and the host of The Robert Scott Bell Show, a radio program dealing with everyday health issues from the perspective of alternative/holistic health care. He is the co-author of Unlock the Power to Heal with Ty Bollinger.

Disease results from oxidative stress and inflammation. Oxidative stress can come from toxins, diet, gut damage from antibiotics, and possibly from chemotherapy. Silver can help the regenerative process in the body.

The gut is the protective layer to the outside world. If this gets disrupted there is damage that happens inside the body and the result is oxidative stress.

Hydrogen reduces oxidative stress and inflammation through direct contact with hydroxyl radicals. It is a selective antioxidant and only reacts with ROS not radicals with a physiological role. It also converts the most cytotoxic radicals into H2O. The body outgasses extra hydrogen.

There is a lot of research showing the benefits of H2. Hydroxyl radicals are the most cell damaging. H2 can directly turn hydroxyl radicals in to H2O. The one problem is a disrupted gut. It is important to have microbiome diversity. H2 helps with the rehabilitation of the microbiome. Electrolyte reversed water (ERW) helps with gut issues. GMOs are devastating to the microbiome and gut.

In cancer, hydrogen water enhances cell death in cancer cells. Gut repair can be seen with hydrogen water, silver and selenium. High content hydrogen water can inhibit colon cancer. .5 ppm for hydrogen. It also improves lipid and glucose metabolism. Sometimes the ROS is the result of inflammation and the hydrogen rich water resolves this. As a result of less inflammation the LDL levels go down. If you want to increase HDL use whole food selenium. The same can be done with hydrogen.

Molecular benefits of H2 are anti-aging, glucose uptake, insulin signaling, and telomerase activity. It stimulates anaerobic microflora to repair the gut and support the immune system. It supports good bacteria. It is beneficial for neurological issues, Parkinson’s, RA, Alzheimer’s, Autism, and autoimmune.

Hydrogen is best used if it is dissolved in water. The technology uses electrolysis so the mineral scale must constantly be removed from the devices. pH neutral hydrogen water is best. Hydrogen comes in tablets, droplet form and gas. Hydrogen accelerates the recovery of the microbiome.

Joseph Mercola, DO

Important Stealth Contributors to Most Cancers

Dr. Mercola is an osteopathic physician and head of Mercola.com. His new book is Fat for Fuel: A Revolutionary Diet to Combat Cancer, Boost Brain Power, and Increase Your Energy.

You can take control of your health. The catalyst for the book was a movie, Fall to my Stars.

80% of the population have insulin resistance. Water fasting is an important jump start for a ketosis unless you are type 1 diabetic, have an eating disorder or are under weight. Water fasting is free (no food cost), creates mental clarity, stimulates autophagy (subcellular organelle destruction), and stimulates stem cells. A person should do long term intermittent fasting before water fasting (20 hours).

Dr. Mercola recommends only do a ketosis diet intermittently. Once you reach ketosis then you switch to targeted cycling. Feast and famine. It pulses the activation of MTOR.

Flax oil is not good because it is highly processed and can be rancid. Use flax seeds instead. Soak the flax overnight and put in the smoothie. It offers great lignins for the microbiome.

EMF issues are real. The WHO classified cell phones as a carcinogen. Calcium channels are affected by VGCC voltage. Dr. Martin Pall has researched this. Calcium in the cell is a powerful modulator. With the phone these get accelerated. The cell phone doesn’t cause thermal cell damage. The damage is done by stimulating VGCC. The safety standards for cell phones are off by 7 million but it takes time for the impact to be understood. This also impacts animals, plants, and the microbiome. Dr. Mercola believes that cell phones are worse than tobacco. We will learn the impact in 30 years. However society doesn’t want to believe it. Dr. Klinghart refuses to treat patients who will not mitigate their EMF as they won’t get better. Microwave ovens can be replaced with a steam convection oven. Induction burners are even worse for EMF. Most of the EMF comes from our homes. WIFI router can be turned off at night. You can wire your house (home theater installation companies do that) to replace the router for Wi-Fi. Computers must be in airplane mode. Stealth EMF comes from: phones not in airplane mode, wireless mouse and keyboard, smart thermostats, and smart TV. Never put your phone on your body if it is not in airplane mode. Don’t use a wireless mouse and keyboard. Smart thermostats are not safe. There are Building Biologists and they will come to your house to test the equipment.

Sleep is important. If you get less than 6 hours you are sleep deprived. Bedroom ELF caused by wiring errors, battery clock, and fluorescent lights. Stetzer filters and meters can help with these issue. How do you limit the damage? Magnesium (is a calcium channel blocker) niacin, molecular hydrogen upregulating NRF-2, nitrous oxide, or 9 ppm tablets of hydrogen. Molecular hydrogen should be pulsed so don’t drink it all day long. Adjuncts include fasting, vitamin C, photobio modulation, near infrared sauna, blocking light from computer screen with IrisTech.com as a blue blocker, minerals, magnesium, selenium, zinc, and iodine. Blood tests include serum ferritin 40-60 ng/ml. If you have high ferritin it is a really bad thing, GGT, HS-CRP should be tested and Vitamin D should be in the range of 60-100. Sunshine makes the water in your body structured and makes Vitamin D.

Ioannis Papasotiriou, MD, PhD

Contribution of Liquid Biopsy in Cancer Diagnosis, Prognosis and Treatment: Techniques and Methods

Dr. Papasotiriou is a medical geneticist and CEO and medical director of RGCC Ltd in Greece.

Liquid Biopsy is called the Greek Test. They do chemo-sensitivity testing and research. They are all over the world, known as the RGCC Group. They look at cancer physiology, diagnosis, circulating tumor cells (CTC) and cancer stem cells (CSC).

Nothing is 100% accurate. Patients need to know there are limitations. Every method has its own value, but the limitations must be understood. Malignant cells must have many parameters to be called cancer. If one parameter is missing it is something else.

Initially cancer starts with the environment: viral, chemical, radiation cause the first change of the cascade. Cell replication is instable. When the cells migrate to other places in the body with neo-angiogenesis.

If the cancer is curable then a plan is applied. If there is a recurrence then a second line of therapy is applied. The outcome for recurrent cancer is only 2-3% successful. Cancer is systemic from day one. The cascade that occurs communicates in a very complicated way. If you address one cascade, other cascades step in. A new test is needed that can test many more parameters.

Cancer spreads primarily through the blood. It then relocates in a new area. From the primary, there is a very small 1% of the cells are capable of spreading. They can do this with the help of bone marrow cells. When there is metastasis, the cells can remain dormant for a very long time. The primary tumor can behave very differently from secondary tumors.

The cancer stem cells are highest in the circulating tumor cells (CTCs). It is very hard to get good data as the CTCs are few and far between. They must be preserved and undamaged to analyze. Flow cytometry is the most relevant method. If the therapy is not proper the cancer stem cells proliferate.

Today we are targeting the cancer cells and not the cancer stem cells. We need a new strategy. There are alternative therapies other than chemo and radiation such as heat and energy which address the micro environment. In the future we need better testing and patient specific protocols that eliminate the cancer stem cells.

Tsu-Tsair Chi, NMD, PhD

Angiostop and Myomin

Dr. Chi earned his PhD in biochemistry and is founder of Chi's Enterprise, Inc.

Angiostop is a supplement that is a growth factor inhibitor and Myomin is a supplement that is an aromatase reducer for cancer. Angiostop is a sea cucumber extract.

Many research studies have been done on pancreatic cancer, leukemia, breast cancer, lung cancer, liver cancer, colorectal cancer, prostate cancer, and urothelial cancer.

Myomin is a supplement for estrogen dominant situations. Anyone with insulin resistance has high estrogen.

The combination of Angiostop and Myomin and Revivin have shown to have very promising results for cancer patients. Anytime a person gets a needle biopsy or surgery it increases their likely hood of metastasizing in the body. In order to avoid this, it can be wise to take Angiostop before and after surgery.

Dustin Sulak, DO

Cannabis & Cancer: Practical Steps for Symptom Relief and Anti-Cancer Effects

Dr. Sulak is an integrative medicine physician in Maine, whose practice balances the principles of osteopathy, mind-body medicine and medical cannabis, and founder and medical director of Healer.

The endocannabinoid system in the body regulates multiple systems and helps maintain homeostasis and balance. This is modulated through the CB1 and CB2 receptor sites.

Research has shown that it is beneficial for neuropathy, induced by chemotherapy, suggesting to use the cannabinoids before and after chemotherapy. In many cases the cannabinoid doesn’t resolve the cancer but does slow progression and is palliative. Research shows that it enhances chemo and radiation treatments as well as lessening side effects.

The important elements of the cannabis plant include the terpenes and the flavonoids which are also therapeutic. The acid (raw) states THCA and CBDA offer additional applications but must be exposed to heat. With heat they become CBD or THC. CBD will tend to balance the THC. For therapy it is important to understand the ratio of CBD to THC which will be suggested by the practitioner.

There are several forms of cannabis including the flower to smoke, oils and tinctures used sublingually, and concentrated oil which is greater than 50% THC by weight. These can be processed using ethanol which seems to be the best approach. CO2 is also used but terpenes and flavonoids can be lost with this process. Eating edibles can be a more risky approach as you don’t know the concentration of cannabinoids.

If the cannabinoid is inhaled, for instant relief, the effect lasts for two hours. Sublingual is more long lasting and bypasses the digestive track and liver metabolism. Some patients find that it is best to take the CBD during the day and THC at night. If there is a lasting feeling from the THC in the morning, CBD will balance that effect. There are sites to get more information including the United Patients Group, Green Flower Media, and Healer.

Why the Story Matters: Discovering Emotional Roots in Brain Cancers

Dr. LaMasa-Schrader is a mind-body practitioner, teacher and the founder of Soul Tree Transformations focusing on mind-body medicine.

Recall Healing is a modality rooted in German New Medicine as an adjunct therapy in cancer care. The patient has three levels including the psyche, the automatic brain, and the body.

In stage one of illness the sympathetic nervous system is in overdrive. In stage two the body is trying to resolve and repair. By understanding the emotional blockages, conscious and unconscious, allows the body to heal faster.

When a brain tumor exists, the location can give clues to the emotion that is an issue. Life experience, life purpose, birth order, ancestors all play a role.

The emotions must be released and can be done by self or by relatives/friends. Once the emotion is realized and the pattern of the conflict is released, the brain can shift and the body can heal. Forgiveness and self-love are the keys. For more information, visit the Recall Healing USA website.

Al Sanchez, Jr.

Poly-MVA

Al Sanchez, Jr. is CEO of AMARC Enterprises, the distributors of Poly-MVA.

Poly-MVA is a solution of Lipoic Acid Mineral plus minerals, vitamins, and amino acids. It aids in metabolism in the cell. There is hypoxia in the tumor allowing the cancer to survive. Poly-MVA is an alternative energy source for the cell, transferring electrons, and initiating higher levels of O2 in the cell triggering cell death.

It is best when supported with COQ10, D-ribose, carnitine, magnesium and vitamins C, A, K, and D. It is also beneficial to combine it with SonoPhoto Therapy. It can help protect against the negative side effects of traditional cancer therapies.

There is now a new Poly-MVA Plus which contains Vitamin A and is available through practitioners.

For more information, visit AMARC Enterprises's Poly-MVA website.

Darrell Wolfe, AC, PhD, DNM

The Power of Mind/Body Medicine in the Treatment of Cancer and Chronic Disease

Dr. Wolfe is an author, speaker, life coach, teacher, and director of the The International Training Institute of Health.

All cancers are caused by anxiety and panic. It is a domino effect of unconscious living. Our minds are corrupted and where the mind goes the body follows. Cancer is an emotion/frequency. Bad mood leads to bad food leads to bad bacteria leads to bad chemistry leads to inflammation leads to scar tissue leads to cell mutation leads to cancer. The terrain is everything and the bug is nothing.

Similarly, images lead to thoughts lead to emotion leads to things. We live in a state of unconscious living with shock, trauma, and anxiety rather than conscious living with joy, bliss, love and self-love. It will help to get rid of all of the belief systems we have been programed with and find our own belief system.

Repetition creates belief. “Today and every day I promise to trust, honor, respect, protect, forgive, and love myself first and foremost before anyone else or anything else on the planet so help me God.”

Angela Poff, PhD

Exploiting Cancer Metabolism with Ketosis

Dr. Poff is a Research Associate at the University of South Florida; Adjunct Professor at the University of Tampa, and CEO at Poff Medical Consulting and Communications.

There are mainly six hallmarks of cancer including angiogenesis of the cell, resisting cell death, activity to invade, etc. Now they have found that dysregulation or abnormal metabolism meaning fermentation is also involved.

Tumors grow and do not respond to apoptosis signals because they are fed by glucose and insulin. F-FDG Pet Scans with radioactive glucose light up the tumors. They have found that as blood glucose rises the tumor size rises.

The ketogenic diet limits glucose and insulin. It includes a diet of 75-90% fat, 5-15% protein and 5-10% carbohydrate and green leafy vegetables. Fat is mobilized into ketones called Beta hydroxybutyrate and acetoacetate. This is being studied for a variety of disorders.

Ketones are better fuel for healthy cells and not as much for cancer cells. Some data shows it directly represses cancer cells. It is also important to restrict calories and determine the right amount of carbohydrate. There are some contraindications including a patient’s inability to process fats, carnitine deficiency, liver disease, kidney disease and pancreatitis.

Ketones are signaling molecules, lowering glucose and insulin, inhibiting glycolysis, reducing oxidative stress, altering gene expression, inhibiting inflammation, enhancing anti-tumor immunity and muscle sparing.

Research shows that radiation and ketogenics together are the most effective. Also hyperbaric oxygen used along with the ketogenic diet is effective. This needs to be used as an adjuvant therapy.

Some cancers could be fueled by the keto diet. Complications of the ketogenic diet include constipation, reflux, weight change, kidney stones, and growth retardation in children. The hypothesis is that it may prevent cancer as ketosis targets the hallmarks of cancer.

It is believed the keto diet has a positive effect on the microbiome of the gut. It shows a reduction in quantity of bacteria, and an increase in diversity. It also levels out glucose and insulin and reduces the roller coaster swings. There is a mild increase in acidity in the blood but an increase in alkalinity of the tumor.

John Hall, PhD

Anti-Cancer Plant Extracts and Anti-Cancer Green Teas

Dr. Hall is Director of Research at Natural Source International, Ltd in New York City and Senior Scientific Advisor for the Beljanski Foundation.

The Beljanski Foundation has done research on the two herbs Pao Pereira and Rauwolfia vomitoria as extracts finding they have anticancer activity. It was found they are more synergistic when used in combination.

These extracts have preferential entry into cancer cells. Both extracts killed prostate cancer cells and reduced tumors. Men with BPH also experienced improvement with urinary stream, less frequency, and less inflammation. BPH levels were lowered effectively.

Jeanne Drisko at the University of Kansas also studied the herbs, and found they killed pancreatic and ovarian cancer cells. Pao in combination with chemo was very effective especially with carboplatin. They have found that cancer stem cells have surface markers that can be identified and separated. The cancer stem cells were also killed by the herbal combination. In addition they have found that a compound of 4 green teas killed cancer cells as well. There have been no human studies as of yet.

Overcoming the Myths and Pitfalls of Implementing the Ketogenic Diet: Fine Tuning and Individualizing Treatment for Patients

Dr. Winters is the visionary, CEO, and primary consultant of Optimal TerrainTM. She is the co-author of The Metabolic Approach to Cancer with Jess Higgins Kelley, MNT.

It is necessary to test urine, breath and, blood. One must: 1) assess the laboratory values, 2) determine the best foundation for a nutritional and therapeutic ketogenic diet, and 3) calculate how to use this diet to enhance conventional and integrative treatment response.

Facts over fiction: FACTS: Food quality matters. There is a need to do testing. Quality fat is important. You can even build weight. It is not a high protein diet. There is a lot of research available. It is a doable diet.

As of 1850 we were low carb high fat eaters. The downfall has been increased sugar in the diet. 175 pounds of sugar are consumed per person per year today. Another downfall is the change in farming and animal raising. And lastly the large number of chemicals in the environment that have not ever been tested.

If you place a healthy mitochondria into a cancer cell, the cell will return to normal. We turn the mitochondria on and off through nutrition.

Diet can be trumped by circadian rhythm and light. Use blue light blockers and wear glasses when working on the computer. Remove mitochondrial toxins.

A metabolic based diet helps enhance all of the above. Food is love and has a cultural connection. There are opiates in gluten and dairy. Food is reward and addictions. Vegetables are the mainstay with the protein and fats being adjustable.

Measure the ketones. You can use urine: fast for 12 hour and check urine ketones in the morning. If there are no ketones then increase the fats measuring acetoacetate. Later you can measure the blood for beta-hydroxybutyrate. Levels should be 5-3 for nutritional ketosis and 3-7 for therapeutic ketosis.

Breath test acetone can be tested. However, blood is the best way to test. A person can use the breath to determine what activities daily trigger you in and out of the keto metabolic state.

The GKI glucose ketone index calculator can be used. Optimum is under 1. Ketosis restores apoptosis in cancer cells; lowers angiogenesis; reduces tumor size; lowers inflammation; lowers autoimmune flares; and enhances standard of care cancer treatments.

Cachexia can be overcome by a keto diet. People with feeding tubes can use this diet. There are ketone supplements that are magical if you are doing ozone therapy. In addition, hyperbaric oxygen therapy will help drive the therapy deep.

The keto diet is also used before radiation treatments. Certain molecular markers and epigenetic markers can determine how well a person will deal with a keto diet. The practitioner should get a laboratory assessment of the patient baseline.

Sodium bicarb can be a miracle but be sure to use gluten free, aluminum free forms if needed depending on the testing results. If the patient is testing themselves on their sugars, ketones, etc., they will be on board with the program. One can measure their glyphosate through detoxprojects.com or Great Plains Lab.

Bioterrain or Marcopharma are a good forms of NAC2. Mixed tocopherols are important to protect the fats ingested. Dr. Dominic D’Agostino has a good list of nutritionists on his KetoNutrition website. Other considerations include cycling ketosis; supplementing with magnesium, vitamin C, 10 pass ozone, mistletoe, horse tail tea, and CBD.

Michael Weber, MD, Dipl. Chem.

New Developments in Photodynamic and Sonodynamic Cancer Therapy

Dr. Weber is a medical practitioner in Germany and leader of three medical centers for general and internal medicine, pain and cancer treatment including President of the International Society for Medical Laser Applications and CEO of Weber Medical.

He has been developing PhotoDynamic Therapy (PDT) over the last 10 years. PDT mechanisms: tumors given a substance and radiated. The therapy is now expanded. Tumors are destroyed by irradiation with light and certain wavelength. Light can come back in a different wavelength and is diagnostic. The therapy increases the oxygen radicals which kill the cancer cells. Inflammation creates non-specific immunity that helps with long term protection. Certain cells are targeted and there is no resistance developed.

There are many photosensitizers on the market. Until recently they could only be used for superficial cancers as they only penetrated 2-3 cm deep. However now they are using fiber optic needles into the tumor allowing the light to penetrate much deeper into the body. The therapy has become a systemic photodynamic therapy. It is being used for breast cancer, prostate cancer, and lung cancer.

Indocyaninegreen (ICG) is a newly developed photosensitizer that works with infrared laser, leaving the body in 30 minutes. Another alternative is using nanoparticles for transport as they stay in the blood stream for days allowing daily treatment.

Photothermicdynamic therapy, using heat, can have deep penetration by being put directly into the tumor. They have also developed a new diagnostic system called Fluorescence Spectroscopy Interstitial 810 nm laser excitation. This has proven to work well on small tumors. If the case is more complicated then it is beneficial to combine PDT with chemo drugs and Sonodynamic therapy with ultrasound. This approach induces cavitation bubbles and destroys the tumor.

New Perspective on Salicinium for Integrative Cancer Treatment

Dr. Shaefer is a retired general, vascular and trauma surgeon who provides bio-integrative consultations to patients of all ages at the Center For New Medicine in Irvine, California.

The macro environment has a lot of toxicity including EMF and chemicals. Micro environment toxicity also exists. Bacteria, viruses, parasites, fungi, candida all work anaerobically and promote the development of cancer.

Eicosanoids are essential fatty acids that are affected by our thoughts. Fear creates sympathetic overdrive and takes the avenue that creates arachidonic acid that is inflammatory.

Attitudes of hope lead to the production of gamma linoleic acid. You can only be in one pathway at a time so attitude matters. The patient need to vision themselves as a well being.

US statistics indicate that 50% of men and 41-51% of women will get cancer in their lifetime. Determine what do cancer cells want and need and then don’t give it to them. The cell type and the cancer stage may not matter that much. Focus on renewal.

93% of breast cancer patients have liver flukes. Abnormal thyroid function is rampant. All sick cells make energy anaerobically through fermentation. If deprived of oxygen for long enough this cannot be reversed. Mitochondria of cancer cells quit working properly so they have to have glucose for energy. They become slightly acid and this totally changes the environment in the cell.

Cancer is a disease of mitochondrial dysfunction promoted by macro-environmental toxicity. Cancer cells want low oxygen, low temp, moisture, low energy, and less GcMAF action.

Salicinium is one therapy to consider as it can be given IV now. Salicinium only targets abnormal cells. It clips off the glucose molecule on the benzaldehyde ring so the glycolysis is stopped leading to starvation of the cell. It needs to be used with other immune support.

When using salicinium do not add other antioxidants meaning avoid all oxidative therapies. Therapies that are compatible include Glutathione, Meyers, HBOT, EDTA, IPT, and ERT. Salicinium is synergistic with mistletoe, hyperthermia, sound therapy, and gallium maltolate.

Be aware that salicinium can make the tumor get larger before getting smaller. For preoperative therapy use salicinium and mistletoe IV. Do not use if there is an oral issue that an increase in the cell size would close the airway. Also if there is cancer in the liver by the ducts, the patient would need to be stented first. Meningeal metastases can expand and cause optic nerve damage. Pancreatic tumor may expand and cause duct obstruction.

Bottom line is to work with a practitioner who is experienced with salicinium.

Cannabinoids and Terpenoids: Pharmacology, pharmacogenomics, and the complex interaction of the endocannabinoid system with terpenoids and phytocannabinoids, implication in oncology

Steven Ottersberg is owner and supervisory analyst of Green Lab Solutions, a certified marijuana testing facility located in Durango, Colorado.

The endocannabinoid system is upregulated by ingestion of omega 3 so it is important to supplement. The American diet destroys the endocannabinoid tone. This influences neuroplasticity. Serotonins and dopamines are driven by the endocannabinoid system. Cb1 and CB2 receptors are throughout the body. In neurotransmission you must include the endocannabinoid system.

THC is pro-histamine in the brain but the opposite in the rest of the body. If patient cannot methylate then histamine will be an issue. THC has a narrow therapeutic window.

The mode of delivery is important. THC has to have its modifiers to go with it called terpenes. Isoprenes are the building blocks of terpenes. The terpenes in the cannabis plant serve many purposes. Terpenes can be anti-inflammatory, a bronchodilator, a stimulant antimicrobial, or nootropic. As an example rosemary has terpenoids which serve as their defense against insects. These terpenes also supply aroma and flavors.

There are many different terpenes. Camphene is an analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and a sedative. Beta myrcene like boswellia sacra is a sedative, euphoric, anti-inflammatory and thus high myrcene and high THC will get you very high. Limonene is calming and a stimulant but also an antidepressant, euphoric, anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory, and a cannabinoid antagonist. It has a citrus and mint flavor. Limonene is the most referenced compound as being anticancer in nature. Start with CBD then later introduce THC.

Smoking is the most predictable outcome as it goes to the brain. It has a three hour half-life, whereas edibles can have a half-life of 72 hours.

Cannabidiol is CBD and has a broad therapeutic application. The dose can vary widely. CBD is anti-psychotic, anti-inflammatory, and anti-spasmodic. CBD is one of the most tolerated agents you can work with. You need a clean source that is potent, safe, and tested. An ISO certified lab will be accurate. Cannabinol CBN is a breakdown of THC acting as a sedative and helping with sleep. THCV is a hiccup in the synthesis of THC. It is an anti-psychotic and anti-diabetic by improving insulin sensitivity.

The mother of all cannabinoids is cannabigerol which is a non-psychoactive CBG. This cannabinoid is in the immature plant and is neuroprotective.

Creating Genomic Stability in Patients with Cancer by Disabling ENOX2 Proteins and Restoring Microbiota Balance

Dr. Ghen has a private practice in Boca Raton, Florida and is a medical director for several natural medicine companies.

This is a targeted treatment that is based on a principle that works. ENOX1 protein allows for growth but only cancer cells produce an ENOX2 protein allowing unregulated growth of the tumor. A bond on the ENOX2 protein stops the growth and there is apoptosis. There are chemo agents that help with this. The concentration must be maintained for the reversible bond to peel off. Capsol T ECGC of green tea and red pepper in a specific ratio are necessary.

One must have four conditions to have success.

  1. Use a capsule that has sustained release of 8 hours.
  2. Use DHBA to stop resistance.
  3. Is there penetration? Are the tumor cells getting hit? Use a DMSO IV solution every 8 hours to ensure penetration.
  4. Is there interference? The fear factor is real and patients get on many substances that may interfere.

The goal is to stay targeted. Concentrations may vary so you look at peak and trough levels.

The second concept is using a nanoparticle silver. The cancer is initiated by an organism or the immune system is compromised by an organism. An antibiotic, antiviral like silver helps keep the microbiota healthy.

ENOX2 is the only thing that is universal on all cancer cells and is therefore useful for screening. There should be an ENOX2 test soon for early diagnosis and intervention. EGCG and green tea concentrate, if dosed properly, can be very effective. The safety studies show no toxicity with 2,000 times the dosage and no side effects. An oral and IV protocol has been developed. This is a six week protocol and now incorporates DMSO.

One must take care of the circulating tumor cells and the cancer stem cells. Pure silver 99.999% pure in sterile water has shown efficacy in killing these cells. Some bacteria, including EBV, can cause these diseases. Hard to tell if the EBV causes the cancer or if the EBV raises its head as it is not held at bay by the immune system. A high percent of cancer patients have bacterial and virus issues. EBV is found in almost all cancer patients. Inflammation must be controlled.

Silver has a good zeta potential, leaves healthy cells alone but must be wet to work. 90% of the bacteria live in biofilm. Silver will penetrate the biofilm and can kill the organism. It can be used orally, nasally, in the eyes, vaginally and in the bladder. Silver is an antiseptic and stimulates white blood cell activity. Silver is eliminated through the gut no matter how you take it in. It is conjugated by phase 2 glutathione so make sure the glutathione stores are high enough.

Tripping Over the Truth: Using Repurposed Drugs to Target Energy Metabolism

Travis Christofferson is the author of Tripping over the Truth: How the Metabolic Theory of Cancer Is Overturning One of Medicine's Most Entrenched Paradigms.

Paul Davies and Tom Seyfried have been doing retrospective analysis of the theories of cancer and concluded that we have been looking at it wrong.

In fact, Warburg had the right theory years ago in that cancer is a mitochondrial disease in the cytoplasm, not a genetic disease in the nucleus. This was proven by placing a cancerous nucleus in a healthy cell and finding it did not produce cancer in animals. Whereas a healthy nucleus in a cancerous cell did produce cancer.

The recent belief is that when a cell becomes cancerous it does a genetic shift to a more embryonic state in a damaged context with proliferation much like the growth of the embryo. Thus the comparison to embryonic stems cell forming the baby. However, after birth the stem cells shift to a form that is for repair and maintenance rather than growth.

The Care Oncology Clinic in the United Kingdom is doing an adjunct therapy using metformin, statins, doxycycline and mebendazole to treat cancer with good results.

The Care and Feeding of Mitochondria: Chemo-Protective Natural Compounds that Modulate Mitochondrial Function

Dr. Chilkov is the founder of Integrative Cancer Answers and author of OutSmart Cancer QuickStart Guide and 32 Ways To OutSmart Cancer: Create A Body In Which Cancer Cannot Thrive.

The mitochondria don’t divide because of a hyperpolarization. One of the hallmarks of cancer is apoptosis resistance. Hyperpolarization turns off the switch for apoptosis. This is done by an upregulation of Bcl-2. In order for a cell to operate properly the P53 gene expression must be intact. In the case of cancer and hyperpolarization the Bcl-2 blocks the function of P53. Therefore the goal is to block Bcl-2.

This is done with botanicals and foods. Some of these include Curcumin, EGEC, resveratrol, pterostilbene, honokiol, I3C, quercetin, berberine, tanshione, reishi, and chaga. Some botanicals to look at seriously include scutellaria balcensis, salvia milthiorrhiza, ganoderma lucidum, inontus oldiqus and tanacetum parthenium. Others include Solomon’s seal, chrysin. Ursolic acid, honokiol and I3C to depolarize the mitochondrial membrane.

P53 can be compromised in 50% of the cancers. P53 must be activated properly to signal cell repair. If the cell cannot be repaired, then P53 signals for apoptosis. Curcumin, ginseng, resveratrol, berberine, and ganodermic acid can all assist with P53 function.

HexokinaseII converts glucose in the glucose 6 pathway. When this is interrupted glycolysis is interrupted. Curcumin, resveratrol, and Solomon’s seal all help downregulate Hexokinase II. Micro RNA regulate gene expression.

DNA is the software - RNA gives the instructions and ultimately protein is made. Phytonutrients exert influence on the micro RNA and help manage the tumor environment. The microbiome also affects how polyphenols are absorbed in the body.

Antonio Jimenez, MD, ND, CNC

Immunotherapy: An Essential Component of 21st Century Cancer Therapy

Dr. Jimenez is the Founder and Chief Medical Officer of the Hope4Cancer Treatment Centers in Mexico.

The Hope4Cancer Treatment Centers are using vaccines, radiation, chemo, GcMAF, check point inhibitors, cellular immunotherapy, Virotherapy, and the Rigvir virus therapy. Old concepts wanted to alter the function of the immune system which is getting away from nature. This is not a good approach. They use active and passive therapies. Active approaches relay on the immune system. Passive approaches do not.

Cancer vaccines stimulate macrophages that are waiting for the call. Then they go to work. The T cells read the antigen and identify self vs foreign antigens. Then T cells get activated. Cytokines are released to kill the cancer cell. Monoclonal antibodies, macrophages, and dendritic cells activate the T helper cells. Cancer stem cells have no antigens on their surface. Green tea extract, metformin, ascorbic acid, vitamin C, photodynamic therapy, sonodynamic therapy, PEMF, light, poly-MVA all work to kill cancer stem cells.

Immunotherapies have severe adverse events including immune evasion and resistance, hyper activation of T cells, cytokine storms, and poor penetration of engineered immune agents into solid tumors. Immune point checkpoint shows over 90% of the patients will not benefit with little change of survival time and lots of side effects.

We need to look at systems biology including nutrition, detoxification, oxygenation, emotions and additional therapies. The extra cellular activity in the environment and the microbiome is important. Fecal transplants are beneficial as well as a personalized detox. The next phase will be oncolytic viral studies which is a new and interesting field.

There are seven key principles of cancer therapy. Weinberg and Hannamann developed the ten hallmarks of cancer. These included treating cancer mechanisms and the terrain. The terrain is a major category. The immune system, acid alkaline balance, genetic factors, toxins, hypoxia, mineral deficiencies, inflammation, dental toxins, hormonal balance, microbiome, free radicals, nutritional status, and metabolic factors all must be considered.

Nontoxic cancer therapies include oxygenation, nutrition, detox, spiritual beliefs, emotions, and the immune system. Nutrition is key to all of this. One must assimilate and eliminate. Nontoxic therapies balance the immune system.

It is important that the body is in regulation and to assist with this they use sonophoto dynamic therapy, the Weber Endolaser and GcMAF. Nagalase can be tested for endo and exo forms. Use Vitamin D (levels should be between 100 and 140) though normally level are 80-100. These higher levels are used with the GcMAF.

Mistletoe is a good immunotherapy compliment as it is cytotoxic and stabilizes DNA. IV mistletoe decreases metastatic activity and improves quality of life. Oncolytic virotherapy - Rigvir and Tvac are very cancer specific and don’t harm normal cells. Hyperthermia, IV vitamin C, and nutrition therapy are important. They check AARSOTA isolate antigens in the urine for an antibody response. Immune modulating nutraceuticals and lymphatic massages are also used at Hope4Cancer.

The bottom line is the need to strengthen the body’s intrinsic immune system.
