The Alliance for Natural Health USA

The Alliance for Natural Health USA (ANH-USA)*, is part of an international organization dedicated to promoting sustainable health and freedom of choice in healthcare through good science and good law. They protect the right of natural-health practitioners to practice and the right of consumers to choose the healthcare options they prefer. Since 1992, they have worked to shift the medical paradigm from an exclusive focus on surgery, drugs and other conventional techniques to an "integrative" approach incorporating functional foods, dietary supplements and lifestyle changes. This is the way to improve health and extend lives while reducing the costs of healthcare back to a sustainable level.

ANH-USA is committed to sustainable health, the recognition that our environment and our physical health are inextricably related. Clean water, nutritious food, dietary supplements, exercise and avoidance of toxins are especially important tools in building and maintaining health. If our prescribed pharmaceuticals are contaminated with mercury, phthalates or have other toxic effects, our physical health will suffer.

Sustainable health is also about financial sustainability. Ever higher health care costs lead directly to higher unemployment and lower standards of living, both of which lead to more illness. The concept of sustainable health is real preventative medicine that will dramatically reduce healthcare costs.

ANH-USA advocates for your right to choose a sustainable and preventive approach to health along with nutritional and "integrative" healthcare. Over the years ANH has tirelessly lobbied Congress and state legislatures, acted as a government watchdog and filed comments on proposed rulings. Their efforts to educate the public, press and other decision-makers has brought awareness to issues related to genetically modified foods, the viability of herbs and supplements in treatment and creating awareness about legislative initiatives that are designed to diminish the rights of health minded consumers. Finally, recognizing that we are all part of a global economy and that health care freedom is more than a US initiative, ANH has broadened their focus to include the global health care arena.
