Integrative Medicine Symposium
Conference
- Location: Miami, Florida
- Dates: April 23-24, 2010
- Attendee: Ferdinando Pisani
On the weekend of April 23rd, 2010, FAIM attended the Integrative Medicine Symposium in Miami, FL. The event was organized by the Center for Complementary and Integrative Medicine at the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. It was hosted at the University's impressive Medical Wellness Centre.
The symposium's subtitle "where complementary and conventional unite" is a good description for this fast paced, eclectic, and interesting event. It was obviously designed for busy people: there were up to 4 simultaneous parallel sessions and no proper lunch break. Like all similar symposiums, it was an excellent opportunity to meet like-minded physicians, researchers, therapists and students mostly from the Miami area.
For those who are interested, we recommend a peek at the full program available on the Integrative Medicine Symposium 2010 web site. The organizers suggested that in the near future (when technical issues are resolved) the major lectures will be available for video download. This is a great solution for those who missed this event and an opportunity to re-listen to some of the lectures that were packed with information. We will keep our patrons posted when this happens and inform them of the next edition of this well-organized symposium.
