Dr. Tullio Simoncini

In the past year FAIM has been looking into the ideas of a controversial Italian oncologist, Dr. Tullio Simoncini, who claims that cancer can be cured using sodium bicarbonate. The official theory of cancer states that an initial cell has gone astray because of genetic mutations. This cell multiplies in an aberrant way because this cell is not part of a higher order of unity of the organism where every cell accomplishes a limited but essential coordinated function. Dr. Simoncini says that this is not true. Instead, cancer is the body's reaction to an insidious mycotic (fungal) infection.

Dr. Simoncini claims that cancer cells are the adaptive transformation of normal cells in an attempt to survive and contain the onslaught of an aggressive mycosis. The bombardment of these cells with chemotherapy and radiation makes them weaker, which leads to a losing tug-of-war with the fungus. Metastasis is not the migration of aberrant cells to other parts of the body but the migration of mycotic spores that cause new cancers in a debilitated organism.

The culprit is the common Candida albicans. Dr. Simoncini claims that the different fungi that infect the body are in reality a taxonomic artifice that gives different names to the same fungus depending on where it is located in the body.

Listening to Dr. Simoncini talk is fascinating. Once he compared cancer cells to a man in chains being dragged behind a cart. "You can bet that after 100 kilometers the man will have a pretty wretched look to himself. Well, would we hit him in the head to finish him off? Instead if we unchain him, give him some food, wash him and give him a bed, within a few days he would look pretty normal again." Dr. Simoncini says that so would cancer cells if one took away the stress of the mycosis – they would revert back to being normal cells. He claims that angiogenesis, the growth of new blood vessels, is the body's effort to irrigate the tumor with more immune factors, instead of being the stratagem of the malicious tumor to get more blood to grow.

Dr. Simoncini took up the use of sodium bicarbonate to treat fungi from pediatric medicine where he noticed it is of common use to treat Thrush in babies. He applied this harmless substance to advanced cancers and got a remarkable curative response. He declared his findings and set up a theoretical framework. His impetuousness eventually irritated those with contrasting views who initiated a series of legal procedures to revoke his medical license. Paradigm shifts in history occur by a combination of many factors, including incredible ideas with incredible personalities. Instead of being suppressed, Dr. Simoncini's belligerent character only got stronger, provoking him to go off on a rampant global crusade to spread his ideas. He has hundreds of cured cases to prove his point. Dr. Simoncini claims that his inner strength derives from certitude of carrying the torch of truth. History, he says, eventually has always given justice to these torchbearers.

Dr. Simoncini considerers himself a conventional oncologist – it is just his treatment that is alternative. When a tumor can be extracted with surgery he highly recommends it. After such surgery, he recommends the cavity must be washed out with sodium bicarbonate to insure no spores are left behind. His system can most effectively treat a tumor by irrigating it directly with sodium bicarbonate though implanted catheters. After a few weeks the tumor shrinks and disappears. Dr. Simoncini claims that many surgeons in Italy now follow this practice, albeit in secret for fear of problems with the medical authorities.

Most of Dr. Simoncini's followers believe the alkalinity effect of the sodium bicarbonate is what eliminates the cancers. Dr. Simoncini disagrees saying it is rubbish. He gives as an example his treatment for melanomas, where he uses iodine tincture, which is acidic. The iodine kills the fungus on the skin, which resolves the tumor in just over a week. Many of these cases are exemplified on Dr. Simoncini's website where one can find all the details of his therapy: www.cancerfungus.com.

Dr. Simoncini understands very well that to prove his treatment he must do proper and extensive scientific clinical trials. All over Europe and North America, his research protocols have been rejected because they are considered unethical. Dr. Simoncini claims that with bladder, prostate, skin and breast cancer, his protocol can give more than 90% success in less than 4 weeks, if the patient has not undergone previous chemo or radiotherapy. The negative attitude towards Dr. Simoncini has acerbated him even more. He accuses the medical institutions of being themselves unethical by intentional negligence and that one day these will need to be examined by a Nuremberg-type trial. Because of this David and Goliath confrontation more and more people are climbing into the bandwagon to cheer this lonely champion. Notwithstanding all the corporate interests sustaining toxic cancer therapies, time will eventually reveal the truth. Interestingly, Dr. Simoncini claims that the future will not exclude these big corporations that are currently producing conventional cancer therapies. These corporations will develop and produce powerful anti-mycotic drugs, which he foresees will be standard care for cancer.

In the meanwhile, doctors from all over the world are consulting with Dr. Simoncini to help treat their patients. Also, more videos of cancer patients are accumulating, where they express their gratitude to Dr. Simoncini. While Dr. Simoncini is conducting his crusade, FAIM is committed to follow this case to the end.
